Even though behind the scenes is our forte, we wanted to take a moment to step out from behind the lens and share a little bit about ourselves and the things we LOVE. We are Lydia and Terren (you can call him T) and together we are a Crested Butte photographer duo, Mountain Magic Media!
We offer all kinds of photography but specialize in weddings, elopements, proposals, engagements, portraits, boudoir, and other special events in Crested Butte, the Gunnison Valley, along the Western Slope, and beyond in other mountain town Colorado areas. We’ll travel for any occasion, we love the opportunity to hit the road for a party! We also love doing boudoir photography and business branding with entrepreneurs.
Creating magic behind the lens is truly a passion of ours and it brings us joy to be a part of your special day, no matter what the celebration! I have been a professional photographer in Crested Butte since 2012 and T has been assisting me since 2016. T is truly the best assistant and second-shooter I could have ever asked for! T is also the best husband I could have asked for… that’s right, we are also IN LOVE and happily married! Who better to capture moments on an epic outdoor excursion than two people who are genuinely excited to hang out with each other!? If you want more juicy deets, here’s a peek at our love story.
Any day spent exploring our beautiful backyard of the West Elk Mountains or the Western Slope is a day very well spent. We love adventuring around beautiful Crested Butte and the entire Gunnison Valley any season of the year – you’ll find us in search of powder for skiing outings in the winter; biking, boating, and climbing in the spring; camping, SUPing, and hunting for colorful wildflowers in the summer (you don’t have to search very hard here, it is the Wildflower Capital of Colorado! There’s even a week-long wildflower festival!); and off-roading and leaf-peeping at those aspens in the fall. Whether we’re hitting the trails in the backcountry or out on the town, there’s always fun things to do in Crested Butte!
Our home is filled with lots of love, photographs, happy plants, and snuggly fur babies. We have two sweet pups, Niko (who went over the rainbow bridge in August 2022, RIP) & Geovi, and two cool cats, Tycho and Felix.
We love sushi date nights, concerts at Red Rocks, beachy vacations, and hosting game night dinner parties with our friends.
What do we love to photograph? Couples in love. Human connections. Our beautiful backyard in the West Elks. Adventures.
But most of all, we love capturing those precious moments. Why? Oh for so many reasons! But especially because we love the thought of preserving memories as emotions. We are both super nostalgic, and we have the photos all around our house to prove it! We’re so grateful to play a role in helping capture those laugh-out-loud moments, tears of joy, special details, and meaningful touches for our fellow nostalgia lovers to relive again and again!
